About the position

As a DigiKey Intern, you will participate in various aspects of the DigiKey department to which you are assigned. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced team members and engage in a capstone project that you will develop throughout your time with us. The internship is designed to provide hands-on learning experiences that will enhance your understanding of DigiKey's operations and the electronic components industry. You will be expected to assist with day-to-day tasks and projects, support your team in their regular duties, and actively participate in team meetings to contribute to brainstorming sessions. Collaboration with team members on various projects and initiatives is essential, as is conducting research and analysis as assigned. You will also maintain organized records of your work and project files, attend requirements meetings with business users, and perform research and analysis to find the data needed to fulfill user needs. A key component of your role will involve writing SQL to produce datasets and creating visualizations for user access. The internship will not only allow you to gain practical experience in your assigned department but also help you develop a deeper understanding of DigiKey and how it operates. You will improve your business skills, including communication, project management, and data analysis, while building a professional network within the industry. This position is ideal for current students or recent graduates who are eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day tasks and projects in the assigned department
  • Support the team in their regular duties

Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate with education in an applicable area of study
  • Strong interest in hands-on learning experiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Average to above-average computer ability
  • Willingness to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively
  • Positive, collaborative approach
  • Knowledge of relational databases and introduction to SQL
  • Attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Good communication skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
