About the position

The Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions Developer role at UNFCU involves developing robust BI solutions and gathering insights from data using various BI tools such as Tableau, MS SQL Server, and OBIEE. The position requires strong communication skills to interact with business areas for requirements gathering and delivering effective BI solutions. This hybrid position emphasizes service excellence and collaboration with team members to enhance existing BI assets and ensure data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop dashboards and KPIs in Tableau, telling a story based on insights from data.
• Manage permissions in Tableau Server.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of TSQL or PLSQL in Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
• Write complex code in stored procedures or PL SQL.
• Communicate and work closely with team members including Analysts, Product Managers, and business users to gather requirements, troubleshoot, modify, and enhance existing BI assets.
• Verify accuracy of data in dashboards, reports, data extracts, and data warehouse.
• Resolve data quality issues, dashboard performance issues, and database performance issues.
• Analyze query plans to resolve database performance issues, create appropriate indexes, resolve deadlocks, and create table hints.
• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain reports on OBIEE.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• 2-6 years of experience in Business Intelligence solutions.
• 3 years of strong working knowledge in Tableau.
• 3 years of software development experience on Microsoft BI Platform - MS SQL Server, SSRS.
• 2 years of experience using Oracle Business Intelligence tools.
• Extensive software design and development knowledge.
• Reporting and data warehouse development skills on complex issues.
• Some data migration experience.
• Hands-on experience using Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Data cleansing and transformation for complex industry-specific standards.
• Exposure to XML and HTML.
• Experience in working in environments with various firewall layers.

Nice-to-haves

• Tableau Certification and/or portfolio of dashboards.
• Some experience on Database with some Data Engineering experience.
• Some level of Tableau Server Administration regarding permission.
• Knowledge of the financial/banking industry.
