At AmeriLife, we are seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Level Business Intelligence (BI) Developer who will play a crucial role in enhancing our financial and accounting operations through the development, maintenance, and optimization of BI solutions. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in the Microsoft stack, including SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI, along with at least 5 years of experience in BI development. A solid understanding of accounting and financial principles is essential for this role, as you will be working closely with accounting, finance, and other business teams to gather requirements and deliver BI solutions that meet their needs. In this role, you will be responsible for modifying software to fix errors, adapting it to new hardware, improving performance, and upgrading interfaces. You will direct system testing and validation procedures, oversee software programming and documentation development, and consult with various departments on project status and proposals. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications to existing systems, ensuring that our BI solutions are effective and efficient. As a Mid-Level BI Developer, you will also design and develop software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes, preparing reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status. You will confer with project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities, ensuring that our BI solutions align with the organization's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces.
• Directing system testing and validation procedures.
• Directing software programming and documentation development.
• Consulting with departments or customers on project status and proposals.
• Working with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
• Analyzing information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications of an existing system.
• Consulting with engineering staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements.
• Designing, developing software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict, measure outcomes, and design consequences.
• Preparing reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status.
• Conferring with project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities.
• Working closely with accounting, finance, and other business teams to gather requirements and provide BI solutions that meet their needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree.
• Extensive knowledge of programming languages and the software development life cycle.
• 5 years of experience in BI development and a solid understanding of accounting and financial principles.
