About the position

The BI Developer position at Ridgeview Medical Center is a full-time role focused on implementing business intelligence software and systems. This includes the integration of various data sources, performing ETL (extract, transform, load) processes, and generating comprehensive reporting solutions. The primary responsibility of the BI Developer is to gather requirements from stakeholders, design effective business intelligence solutions, and deploy these solutions to end users, ensuring they meet the organization's needs. In this role, the BI Developer will create and monitor reporting and dashboard solutions that are tailored to the requirements of the organization. They will ensure optimal performance for end users by establishing and executing system performance assessment processes and developing associated action plans. The position requires independent project work to provide reporting solutions while collaborating closely with various business areas and vendors to resolve any reporting-related issues. Adherence to established coding standards is crucial, as is the ability to gather business requirements, code, validate, and document new or modified reports. Additional duties and projects may be assigned as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business intelligence and analytics, with a focus on delivering high-quality reporting solutions. They will be detail-oriented, possess critical thinking skills, and have the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms. The role also requires the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage shifting priorities in a professional manner. Responsibilities

  • Creates and monitors reporting and dashboard solutions that meet the needs of the organization.
  • Ensures optimal end user performance by establishing and consistently executing overall system performance assessment processes and associated action plans.
  • Works independently on projects to provide reporting solutions.
  • Works closely with all business areas and vendors to resolve issues related to reporting.
  • Adheres to established code standards.
  • Gathers business requirements, codes, validates, and documents new or modified reports.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree/Certification in Computer Science (or related field) or 2 years demonstrated experience in a Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Reporting function.
  • Experience with SQL/SSRS/SSMS or any related reporting development software.
  • Familiarity with dashboarding tools such as PowerBI, Tableau or similar.
  • Familiarity with general ETL practices.
  • Detail oriented with a high level of critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to meet and maintain necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally.
  • Ability to conduct research into technology issues and products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with healthcare information systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server BI tools (SSRS/SSIS/SSAS).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and other applicable data privacy practices and laws.
