About the position

The BI Developer role in Dallas, TX, is a contract position focused on business intelligence and data analytics. The primary responsibility is to design and deliver visually engaging Power BI reports and Paginated Reports, leveraging extensive experience in data modeling and visualization techniques. The role requires a strong technical background in SQL and Power BI, along with the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver intuitive and visually engaging Power BI reports and Paginated Reports.
• Show a portfolio of report designs when applicable.
• Utilize Power Query, DAX, and data modeling techniques in Power BI.
• Create and design SSRS / Paginated Reports using Report Builder.
• Manage and prioritize multiple workstreams effectively.
• Adapt to changes and pivot as necessary in project requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related capacity.
• Proven record of designing and delivering Power BI reports.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Proficient in Power BI, Power Query, DAX, and visualization techniques.
• Experience using Python data transformation tools and libraries.

Nice-to-haves

• Relevant knowledge and experience in private equity / finance.
• Power BI (or relevant) certifications.
• Experience with Tableau and Microsoft cloud data platforms (e.g., ADF, Data Bricks, Fabric).
