About the position

The BI Developer position at Ridgeview Medical Center is a critical role responsible for implementing business intelligence software and systems. This includes the integration of various data sources, performing ETL (extract, transform, load) processes, and generating comprehensive reporting solutions. The BI Developer will gather requirements from stakeholders, design effective business intelligence solutions, and deploy these systems to end users, ensuring that the solutions meet the organization's needs effectively. In this role, the BI Developer will create and monitor reporting and dashboard solutions tailored to the requirements of the organization. They will ensure optimal performance for end users by establishing and executing overall system performance assessment processes and associated action plans. The position requires independent project work to provide reporting solutions while collaborating closely with various business areas and vendors to resolve any reporting-related issues. Adherence to established code standards is essential, as is the ability to gather business requirements, code, validate, and document new or modified reports. Additional duties and projects may be assigned as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background or relevant experience in business intelligence, analytics, or reporting functions, and will be proficient in SQL, SSRS, SSMS, or similar reporting development software. Familiarity with dashboarding tools such as PowerBI or Tableau, as well as general ETL practices, is also required. The role demands a detail-oriented individual with strong critical thinking skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement business intelligence software and systems, including integration, ETL, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Degree/Certification in Computer Science or related field, or 2 years demonstrated experience in a Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Reporting function.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SSRS, SSMS, or related reporting development software.
  • Familiarity with dashboarding tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Understanding of general ETL practices.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to meet and maintain necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English for effective correspondence.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally.
  • Ability to conduct research into technology issues and products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with healthcare information systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server BI tools (SSRS/SSIS/SSAS).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and other applicable data privacy practices and laws.
