About the position

The BI Developer role at Public Partnerships LLC involves collaborating with data engineers to design and build data models, develop analytical datasets, and create Power BI reports and dashboards. The position focuses on enabling business users to extract data through self-service BI while ensuring high performance and security of the reports and datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to design and build data models within Databricks SQL
  • Create optimized external tables for serving data from the Gold layer to BI tools
  • Develop and maintain analytical datasets for enterprise reporting and self-service BI
  • Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Enable business users to extract data through self-service extracts
  • Implement row-level security (RLS) and column-level security (CLS) in Power BI
  • Create compelling data visualizations using Power BI for enterprise analytics
  • Ensure high performance of reports and dashboards through proper data modeling
  • Automate the scheduling and publishing of Power BI reports
  • Monitor and optimize Power BI datasets and dataflows for performance
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements
  • Document the data models, metrics, and KPI definitions

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Power BI (Dashboards, Reports, Dataflows)
  • Experience with SQL Server and Databricks SQL for building analytical models and queries
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing and ETL pipelines
  • Familiarity with DAX and Power Query for advanced reporting
  • Understanding of row-level security (RLS) and column-level security (CLS)
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks for orchestrating data pipelines
  • Skills in report automation, data scheduling, and self-service BI
