About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BI Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced engineering team. This role will be pivotal in driving our data-driven decision-making capabilities across the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence, data modeling, and ETL development, responsible for creating and managing BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy BI solutions using tools like Power BI and Tableau.
• Maintain and support data analytics platforms.
• Conduct troubleshooting on our BI models.
• Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses.
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.
• Develop and update technical documentation.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate systems.
• Develop and execute ETL packages.
• Translate business needs to technical specifications.
• Secure sensitive data according to best practices.
• Work closely with stakeholders to identify and gather requirements.
• Develop and manage BI solutions.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analyses as required.
• Use ADF for complex data migration tasks, and to transform and load data.
• Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a BI Engineer or similar role.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the field.
• Solid experience in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining.
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
• Proficient in SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Demonstrable experience with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI).
• Experience with Tableau, QlikView, or similar BI technology.
• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.
• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
