About the position

The Bi-Lingual Production Manager oversees daily production operations in a chemical manufacturing environment, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and timely delivery of products. This role requires active engagement on the production floor, managing schedules, resources, and cross-functional coordination to optimize productivity. The manager is responsible for establishing KPIs, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety standards while mentoring and training team members.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production operations, ensuring that goals for safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency are met.
  • Spend the majority of time on the production floor, actively monitoring operations, addressing and solving issues, and providing hands-on support to team members during peak workloads.
  • Manage production schedules, prioritizing and releasing work orders based on deadlines and resource availability.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities between production, maintenance, shipping, and supply chain to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess production efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee engagement and leading lean initiatives.
  • Lead project management initiatives aimed at process optimization, productivity enhancement, and cost reduction.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance including DOT and OSHA, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Communicate production goals, performance expectations, and updates to the production team.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate production team members to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Drive problem-solving activities for production disruptions, utilizing root cause analysis.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including schedules, reports, and work orders.
  • Attend and participate in all management meetings.
  • Lead hiring and employee development for the department.
  • Monitor and maintain the safety program and equipment for the department.

Requirements

  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University or minimum 5 years related work experience in chemical manufacturing management required.
  • Familiarity with chemical blending and production protocols.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles in hazardous materials environments.
  • Hazardous chemical/materials safety and handling experience.
  • Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze problems, collect data, determine root causes, and provide solutions.
  • Highly effective communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Ability to walk/stand for long periods and lift 50 pounds regularly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with hazardous waste operations and emergency response training (HAZWOPER) certification.
  • Forklift operation experience.
