About the position
The BI Manager at Canopy will lead the Business Intelligence function, overseeing the development and implementation of data analytics strategies. This role is crucial for driving data-driven decision-making across the organization and transforming data into actionable insights that align with the company's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution, managing a small team while collaborating with senior leadership to meet data needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive BI strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
- Oversee the planning, prioritization, execution, and delivery of BI projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
- Design and maintain a robust data architecture that supports efficient data collection, storage, and analysis.
- Ensure the creation of accurate, timely, and insightful reports and dashboards that inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to understand their data needs and provide tailored BI solutions.
- Implement and enforce data governance and best practices to maintain data integrity, security, and privacy.
- Identify opportunities to enhance BI processes, tools, and methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a small but capable team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality analysis and insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker), SQL, data warehousing solutions, and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail and a strategic mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
