About the position

Akkodis is seeking a Big Data Architect for a contract position in Plano, Texas. The role involves leading the architecture, design, and deployment of Big Data solutions, ensuring scalability and efficiency across distributed systems and cloud services. The ideal candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives and mentor technical teams in best practices.

Responsibilities

• Designing and documenting technical and user requirements to create effective Big Data solutions and architectures.
• Leading the development and deployment of large-scale, distributed Big Data applications and frameworks, such as Hadoop.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders, ISVs, OEMs, and technical teams to ensure alignment of solutions with business needs and objectives.
• Overseeing the integration of underlying infrastructure, including clustered/distributed computing, storage, and data center networking.
• Mentoring and leading technical teams, ensuring best practices in solution design, performance, and scalability.
• Conducting proof-of-concept projects and evaluating emerging technologies to drive innovation in Big Data and analytics solutions.
• Communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of complex system designs.
• Developing and managing relationships with key partners and vendors to enhance the deployment and operation of Big Data applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of technical solutions experience, with at least 5+ years in Big Data/Analytics domains.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying large-scale Big Data applications, such as Hadoop, in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in cloud-based Big Data solutions, including infrastructure design for distributed computing, storage, and networking.
