About the position
The Big Data Developer - II position is focused on developing strategies for effective data analysis and product enablement. The role involves selecting, configuring, and implementing analytical solutions, as well as developing data analytics and collection systems to optimize statistical efficiency and quality. The developer will work on building data pipelines and harmonization components to facilitate insight generation for executive decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Accomplish end-to-end build of the pipeline and data harmonization component to enable insight generation.
- Design, develop, and implement software based on requirements.
- Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with the support team for code deployment.
- Collaborate with team members to follow processes, procedures, and data security.
- Work with infrastructure, network, database, application, and business intelligence teams to ensure high data quality and availability.
Requirements
- B.S. or equivalent Engineering degree with at least 5 years of work experience.
- Proficiency in Teradata and knowledge of Big Data technology.
- Experience in UNIX Shell Programming.
- Working knowledge of database (Teradata) and Advanced SQL (Structured Query Language).
- 4 years of hands-on experience with Teradata Utilities (Bteq/Mload/TPT/QG/Fast Export).
- General operational expertise including troubleshooting skills and understanding of system capacity and data anomalies.
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience with HIVE/Spark/HSQL/OOZIE.
- Experience in designing and building infrastructure for data extraction, preparation, and loading from various sources using Non-SQL and Big Data technologies.
