About the position

The Big Data Engineer will support internal business stakeholders by enhancing their big data capabilities. This role involves technical initiatives in data engineering, data analytics, and software integration, primarily within an AWS Cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, particularly in Python and SQL, and will be expected to contribute to various data engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Support technical initiatives in data engineering and analytics.
• Integrate software solutions to enhance big data capabilities.
• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries.
• Implement test-driven development practices and build unit tests.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering.
• Expertise in Python coding.
• Strong skills in structuring complex SQL queries.
• Experience with test-driven development and building unit tests.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Spark.
• Knowledge of data architecture.
• Familiarity with AWS services related to big data such as S3, EC2, and EMR.
• Previous experience in big data engineering.
