About the position
The Senior Big Data Developer role is focused on providing technical leadership and hands-on contributions in building cloud-based data applications. The position involves migrating legacy data platforms and translating business requirements into effective solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders and team members to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership in driving solutions and hands-on contributions.
- Build new cloud-based ingestion, transformation, and data movement applications.
- Migrate and modernize legacy data platforms.
- Translate requirements into high-level and low-level solution designs and working programs/code.
- Interact with business/IT stakeholders to understand requirements and identify dependencies.
- Suggest and present solutions to involved parties convincingly.
- Perform hands-on work to deliver on commitments and coordinate with team members both onsite and offshore.
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience in Big Data development.
- Strong knowledge of the Spark framework.
- Proficiency in Scala or Python scripting languages.
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS).
- Good understanding of data integration and building data warehouse solutions.
- Familiarity with UNIX and SQL.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with additional cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality practices.
