About the position

The Big Data/Hadoop Sr. Engineer role involves developing and implementing data solutions, supporting the data platform, and assisting in tenant onboarding. The position requires extensive experience in data engineering, particularly with Hadoop and SQL, and is designed for candidates with a strong background in data pipelines and ETL processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data solutions based on received business requirements.
• Support and maintain the data platform, ensuring its stability and performance.
• Assist in onboarding new tenants to the data platform and provide ongoing support to existing tenants.
• Run SQL queries to understand data structures and fulfill data requests from business users.
• Understand and manage the data lifecycle, including data flow, transformation, and ETL processes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, with 5+ years of experience writing advanced queries.
• Solid Unix scripting skills and a good understanding of the Unix environment.
• Extensive experience with Hadoop ecosystem and related technologies (4-6 years).
• Hands-on experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.

Nice-to-haves

• 2-4 years of experience with MS SQL Server.
• Prior experience working on a risk-related project.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Experience with various Big Data tools and technologies.
