About the position

The Big Data Hybrid Platform Architect role at Deutsche Bank is a pivotal position within the Enterprise Analytics Platform (EAP) group, part of the Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI). This group is at the forefront of leveraging cutting-edge technology to transform the operational landscape of the bank. The primary focus of this role is to enhance the bank's data enabling capabilities, thereby unlocking the potential of the company's data assets to secure a competitive edge in the marketplace. As the bank advances its journey to the Cloud, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP), this position also involves improving the on-premises platform to align with the cloud technology stack. In this role, you will be responsible for building and managing data solutions in collaboration with architects, product managers, and other key stakeholders. This includes configuring and managing software on both Cloud and on-premises environments using the Hadoop ecosystem. You will also be tasked with optimizing operational efficiency on production-grade systems, ensuring low costs and high automation. A significant aspect of the role is to support the adoption of agile methodologies, working closely with agile coaches and leads to deliver features and tasks in a scaled scrum approach. Security is a critical component of this position, as you will implement best practices for security and encryption in Big Data environments. You will assist architects in designing and implementing high-performance systems capable of handling large volumes of data integration processes, databases, storage, and provisioning. Your leadership will be essential in addressing technical, process, and people issues, ensuring that the team adheres to high standards and effective governance methods for transparency and communication. The role demands a strong commitment to delivering scalable Big Data architecture solutions, with a focus on analyzing both structured and unstructured data to propose robust data architecture solutions that ensure scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and elasticity. You will set the architectural vision across various teams and develop conceptual, logical, and physical designs for diverse data types and large volumes, aligning with enterprise architecture and infrastructure guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Build data solutions in collaboration with architects, product managers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Configure and manage software on Cloud and/or on-prem using the Hadoop ecosystem.
  • Build, tune, and perform operational efficiency on production-grade systems.
  • Support the adoption of an agile way of working and contribute to scaled scrum approaches.
  • Implement security and encryption best practices for Big Data environments.
  • Assist architects in designing and implementing high-performance systems for large volume data integration processes.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in designing and implementing scalable Big Data architecture solutions.
  • Commitment to delivering in Agile processes and accelerating delivery.
  • Ability to analyze structured and unstructured data to propose scalable data architecture solutions.
  • Set architectural vision and direction across multiple teams.
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical designs for various data types and large volumes.
  • Knowledge of SQL on Hadoop engines such as Hive, Impala, and Spark SQL.
  • Proficiency in OOP languages like Java, C++, and Python.
