About the position

The successful candidate will be part of the KBR team supporting the Test Resource Management Center's (TRMC) Big Data (BD) and Knowledge Management (KM) Team deploying BD and KM systems for DoD testing Ranges and various acquisition programs. This position is remote work capable, allowing candidates to work from one of KBR's facilities or from home, provided they have a stable internet connection. The role involves the deployment and integration of a highly visible data analytic project called Cloud Hybrid Edge-to-Enterprise Evaluation Test & Analysis Suite (CHEETAS) at multiple DoD ranges and labs. The candidate will collaborate with data science and software engineering team members to support customers by demonstrating insights gained from analyzing DoD Test & Evaluation data. Responsibilities also include deploying and configuring Big Data and Knowledge Management tools in an enterprise environment, troubleshooting various Big Data ecosystem tools, and working with a wide range of stakeholders at different levels of experience. As a CHEETAS deployment subject matter expert, the candidate will be a critical part of the technical team responsible for deploying CHEETAS within customer environments. This includes working closely with system administrators and software developers to communicate, document, and resolve deployment issues as they arise. The position requires providing deployment services to various DoD testing Ranges and acquisition programs, deploying CHEETAS within disparate environments, and acting as the frontline interface for customers experiencing CHEETAS within their DoD Range and lab environments. This requisition will be used to hire multiple individuals, and entry-level Integration Engineers will not be considered due to the breadth of knowledge necessary for success in this position. The role is anticipated to require travel of 25% with surges possible up to 50% to support end users located at various DoD Ranges and Labs across the United States. Responsibilities

  • Deployment and integration of the CHEETAS project at multiple DoD ranges and labs.
  • Support customers by demonstrating insights from analyzing DoD Test & Evaluation data.
  • Deploy and configure Big Data and Knowledge Management tools in an enterprise environment.
  • Configure and troubleshoot various Big Data ecosystem tools.
  • Work with stakeholders and functional teams at various experience levels.
  • Become a CHEETAS deployment subject matter expert.
  • Act as a critical part of the technical team for CHEETAS deployment.
  • Communicate, document, and resolve deployment issues with system administrators and software developers.
  • Provide deployment services to various DoD testing Ranges and acquisition programs.
  • Deploy CHEETAS within disparate environments, including non-standard hardware stacks and DoD vaults.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related technical field).
  • 7-10 years of experience in relevant fields.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in big data environments.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and integration with Hadoop, SQL Server Big Data Cluster, CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat, Windows Server, and VMWare.
  • Active or Current Secret Clearance required; Top Secret Clearance preferred.
  • Experience with installation, configuration, integration, and usage of tools like Helms Charts, YAML, Kubernetes, and SQL Server.
  • Ability to learn new business processes or CHEETAS application nuances every Agile sprint release.
  • Experience working in a distributed team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in government/defense labs and their computing restrictions.
  • Knowledge of the Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA) and Joint Mission Environment Testing Capability (JMETC).
  • Experience with major DoD Acquisition programs such as Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) or Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
  • Knowledge of DoD Cybersecurity policies.
