About the position

The Big Data Java Developer will support a market intelligence business case by integrating insurance data into the company's Azure data lake. This role requires a strong background in core Java development, particularly in an Azure cloud environment, and involves significant interaction with internal stakeholders, necessitating excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the integration of insurance data into the Azure data lake.
• Develop and maintain Java applications for data processing.
• Present updates and findings during stand-ups to high-level stakeholders.
• Collaborate with technical personnel to finalize project requirements.
• Mentor junior developers in Java and data manipulation techniques.

Requirements

• 5+ years of core Java development experience.
• Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum).
• Strong proficiency with SQL and data manipulation language, including optimization techniques.
• Strong understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles.
• Experience with multiple data storage subsystems.
• Cloud experience, preferably in Azure.
• Understanding of processing large data sets.
• Ability to interface with technical personnel to finalize requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interaction.
