About the position

The position is for a Big Data Software Engineer at IBM Consulting, focusing on developing innovative solutions for government clients. The role involves working within a small agile team to build a big data pipeline and AI/ML-based analytics capabilities, requiring a Top Secret level security clearance. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, and deploying software in a classified high-performance compute environment, utilizing a mix of custom and off-the-shelf software packages.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy software for a classified government high-performance compute environment.
  • Build a big data pipeline and AI/ML-based analytics capabilities for government customers.
  • Collaborate with team members to communicate openly and design solutions.
  • Deliver quality code regularly in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • US Citizen with active DOD/DOJ Top Secret Level security clearance required on Day 1.
  • 2+ years of experience installing and configuring SELinux / Rocky Linux systems and implementing security hardening processes in container-based systems.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience configuring and operating container-based systems such as Kubernetes, Podman, Docker, and/or OpenShift.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Python and/or Java.
  • 1+ years of experience managing DevOps in cloud-based, high-performance compute, or bare metal server environments.
  • 1+ years designing and implementing Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, or Maven.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ year of experience installing and managing software on a high-performance compute environment.
  • 1+ year experience with network data (IP traffic), internet protocols, telecommunications data.
  • 1+ year experience with Bro/Zeek, TShark/PyShark, nfstream or other network analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience with AI/ML, including data management and algorithm development, evaluation, and optimization.
  • TS//SCI with CI or FSP polygraph (current within 5 years) strongly preferred.
