About the position

The BigQuery / SQL Developer role is focused on supporting the State of Tennessee's TN DATA platform, which involves managing various data use cases related to education, human services, and more. The position entails overseeing the complete data lifecycle, including data ingestion, cleaning, quality assurance, and presentation, specifically utilizing Google Cloud Platform services.

Responsibilities

• Support the TN DATA platform by managing data related to education and human services.
• Oversee the complete data lifecycle from ingestion to presentation.
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the process.
• Utilize Google Cloud Platform services, particularly BigQuery and Dataflow, for data management.
• Optimize SQL queries for backend data preparation and integration with frontend tools.

Requirements

• Proficient in Python scripting for data manipulation and processing (4-6 years of experience).
• Strong SQL expertise with skills in query optimization and backend data preparation (4-6 years of experience).
• Experience as an SQL Developer (4-6 years of experience).
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes; knowledge of Informatica is a plus (4-6 years of experience).
• Proficient in using Google Cloud Platform services, particularly BigQuery and Dataflow (1-3 years of experience).
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools and practices (1-3 years of experience).
