About the position

The BigQuery/SQL Developer role is focused on supporting the State of Tennessee's TN DATA platform, which involves managing various data use cases related to education, human services, and more. The position emphasizes the complete data lifecycle, including ingestion, cleaning, and ensuring data quality, specifically within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities

• Support the TN DATA platform by managing data ingestion and cleaning processes.
• Ensure data quality throughout the data lifecycle.
• Optimize SQL queries for backend data preparation.
• Integrate backend data with frontend tools like Tableau and Power BI.
• Utilize GCP services, particularly BigQuery and Dataflow, for data management.
• Implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices.

Requirements

• Experience with Python scripting for data manipulation and processing.
• Strong skills in SQL query optimization.
• Experience as an SQL Developer.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes; knowledge of Informatica is a plus.
• Proficient in using GCP services, particularly BigQuery and Dataflow.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools and practices.
