About the position

The Bigdata / Data Warehouse Developer role focuses on implementing and governing controls on market data within a Cloudera/big data platform. The position requires strong SQL skills and experience in data analysis, particularly in the context of OTC derivatives and markets. Candidates will be expected to perform root cause analysis on control failures and work extensively with complex SQL queries.

Responsibilities

• Involved in working on implementation and governance of controls on markets data on Cloudera/big data platform.
• Working with source systems that publish transactions to Cloudera data platform and perform RCA on controls failed.
• Day to day activity would involve working extensively on complex SQLs that are run on Hive/IMPALA DB.
• Running data analysis on controls implemented, issues identified and implement fixes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in IT and database/data warehouse domain.
• Strong SQL skills, with experience writing complex queries spanning multiple tables.
• Working knowledge of performance tuning of database queries, including understanding the inner workings of the query optimizer, query plans, indexes, and partitions.
• Exposure to scripting languages like shell scripting and Python is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with FpML is a plus.
