About the position

The Bilingual Case Worker position is a part-time role within the City of Irving's Police Department, focused on assisting victims of violent crime. Responsibilities

  • Assist victims of violent crime in assessing safety needs and lethality issues.
  • Identify needed resources or referrals for victims.
  • Serve as a victims' advocate with investigators, prosecutors, and social services agencies.
  • Provide assistance in filing claims with the Office of the Attorney General.
  • Complete and follow up on Crime Victims Compensation applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in psychology, counseling and guidance, social work, or a related field.
  • One year of relevant experience required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) translation skills are essential.
