About the position

The Bilingual Clinician (English/Spanish) position is a full-time role focused on providing mental health services within a Transitional Foster Care program in the Bronx. The clinician will work with a diverse population of refugee children, ensuring that their unique cultural, ethnic, and individual needs are met in a therapeutic environment. This role requires specialized training and a commitment to addressing the mental health needs of children and youth in a sensitive and respectful manner.

Responsibilities

• Carry an assigned caseload
• Conduct mental health assessments
• Provide ongoing individual and group counseling
• Screen for human trafficking concerns
• Provide crisis intervention services
• Perform ongoing case analysis
• Participate in ongoing training
• Participate in case conferences
• Cover on weekends on a rotating basis
• Complete intakes/assessments for new admissions or be available by phone for emergencies with children needing clinical intervention
• Perform other duties as requested
• Respond in a positive and respectful manner to diversity among the agency's service population and staff.

Requirements

• Master's degree with corresponding licensure in psychology, sociology or other relevant behavioral science; LMSW preferred
• Knowledge of child welfare/child protective services
• Experience with Evidence-Based Models
• Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills
• Effective communicator with excellent writing and speaking skills
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
