About the position

The Bilingual Collection Specialist at Cornerstone Capital Bank is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while managing collections for mortgage servicing. This role involves negotiating payment arrangements, maintaining communication with borrowers, and utilizing skip tracing tools to locate customers. The position emphasizes customer education regarding hardship assistance options and aims to prevent delinquencies through proactive engagement.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate payment arrangements to keep borrowers in their homes and prevent loans from becoming 30+ days past-due.
• Maintain open communication with borrowers after payment is received to allow for early intervention.
• Utilize skip tracing tools to locate borrowers with inaccurate contact information.
• Manage inbound and outbound calling queues via an automated calling system.
• Continuously improve knowledge and skills to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and a world-class experience.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mortgage servicing.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a collections environment.
• Bilingual required (English and Spanish).
• Strong phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.
• Solid analytical skills with prudent judgment.
• Exceptional organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Strong interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication abilities.
• Ability to handle stressful situations professionally and respectfully.
• Attention to detail.
