About the position
The Banking Customer Service Representative at Fifth Third Bank is responsible for providing exceptional customer service during daily transactions, addressing customer inquiries, and resolving problems in line with bank policies. This role involves building rapport with customers, promoting good relations, and meeting sales referral goals while ensuring customer confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service in daily transactions and inquiries.
- Refer customers to appropriate business partners for product and service needs.
- Meet and exceed sales referral goals set by management.
- Handle cash and process customer transactions accurately.
- Initiate conversations with customers to uncover their needs.
- Maintain a balancing record and correct errors as needed.
- Handle customer issues professionally and direct complex issues to management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial center policies, procedures, products, and services.
- Perform daily office responsibilities to maintain efficient operation of the financial center.
Requirements
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum 1 year experience in Banking, Retail, Sales, or a role involving cash handling and customer service.
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Strong working knowledge of banking retail policies and procedures.
- Advanced math abilities.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for most of the shift.
