About the position

The Bilingual Insurance Customer Service Representative will provide support to customers by addressing inquiries related to insurance coverage, discounts, and billing. This role requires proficiency in both English and Spanish, as the representative will interact with customers through various communication channels. The position is focused on maintaining customer accounts, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers via telephone, email, text, or in person to provide support and information on products or services.
  • Field customer questions and complaints to assigned Agent when the issue is beyond the representative's knowledge.
  • Maintain customer accounts and records of customer interactions.
  • Engage with customers to identify and address adverse situations such as billing issues, pricing issues, and errors on policies.
  • Review and process policy changes according to established guidelines.
  • Perform premium breakdowns and calculate rates based on selected coverages.
  • Prepare/type a variety of reports, endorsements, form letters, and cancellation letters.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent communication skills including active listening.
  • Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances.
  • One to two years of experience in an office setting is preferred.
  • Experience with multi-line telephone systems is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of property and casualty insurance is preferred.
