About the position

The Bilingual Customer Service Representative at TEKsystems serves as the first point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and concerns related to insurance products. This role focuses on customer retention and effectively communicating the value of products and services, ensuring a positive customer experience through professionalism and product knowledge. The position requires a hybrid work schedule, with three days in the office and two days remote, and includes a six-week in-office training period.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting policyholders with insurance product information
  • Working with customers via inbound and outbound calls to assist those wishing to cancel their existing insurance coverage
  • Reviewing products benefits and solving service and claims issues
  • Matching products with client needs
  • Assisting in the collection of current and past due premiums
  • Providing detailed information about policy statuses
  • Assisting with basic technical troubleshooting for website/app related issues
  • Meeting or exceeding departmental standards related to quality and KPIs
  • Supporting process improvements and providing feedback to leadership
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in customer service
  • 1-2 years contact center experience
  • Previous experience working as a customer service representative
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish (verbal, written, read)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of database software
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Ability to explain detailed policy concepts in a simple way

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with retention efforts to retain customers
  • Previous phone sales experience
