About the position

The Bilingual Data Coordinator at the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's mission to serve children, youth, and their families. This position involves a variety of professional tasks centered around data management, including data collection, input, analysis, and reporting. The Data Coordinator will work closely with the Intake and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) departments to fulfill all data-related needs, ensuring that the data is accurate, compliant, and effectively utilized by staff members. In this role, the Data Coordinator will be responsible for developing, preparing, and maintaining both standard and ad hoc reports for various stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and funders. A strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, as the coordinator will need to create complex reports, utilize pivot tables, and convert numerical data into visual formats such as graphs and charts. Additionally, the coordinator will conduct audits to verify the quality and integrity of the data, monitor compliance, and participate in audits as necessary. The position requires a commitment to confidentiality, particularly regarding Protected Health Information and personal data of children. The Data Coordinator will also attend weekly meetings with supervisors and must be flexible in their work schedule, as the role may require nontraditional hours. This is a fully remote position, allowing for a work-life balance while contributing to the vital mission of NYAP.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Programs mission, values, and philosophies.
  • Support the Intake and CQI departments with all data needs including data collection, data input, data analysis, data reporting, data interpretation, and assisting staff in using and understanding data software.
  • Develop, prepare, and maintain standard and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders, regulatory reports, and funders.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to create reports, including pivot tables, formulas, and linking data across spreadsheets.
  • Conduct audits of data to verify quality and integrity, and monitor for data compliance.
  • Understand the Intake process and support intake activities and administrative work as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information and personal information of the children at all times.
  • Attend weekly supervisor meetings and pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college graduate preferred.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Solid working experience in data collection, data input, data analysis, data reporting, and data interpretation is required.
  • Experience verifying the quality and integrity of data and monitoring for data compliance is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is preferred.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a non-profit or social services environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data compliance regulations and standards is a plus.
