About the position

The Floater Supervisor at Himalayan Pet Supply plays a crucial role in the Production Department, responsible for overseeing the packaging and cooking departments. This position focuses on effective resource management, adherence to safety and quality standards, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that production meets customer specifications and company quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure production meets specifications and quality standards.
  • Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, safety standards, and product quality.
  • Train, coach, and involve employees; appraise performance and address complaints.
  • Oversee and review all required paperwork, reports, and documentation.
  • Coordinate production planning with other departments for maintenance and work order completion.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams for continuous improvement of methods and processes.
  • Review and implement programs to comply with safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of equipment and initiate work orders for repairs.
  • Maintain completion of quality initiatives such as CAPA Completion, SQF Preparedness, and GMPs.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and develop a team of 20-30 associates.
  • Ability to communicate and develop relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven decision-making skills regarding resource utilization and needs.
  • Experience implementing Continuous Improvement tools to improve Packaging & OEE Performance preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of ADP and ERP systems is a plus.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must.
  • Aptitude for team building and employee engagement.
  • Highly organized and a self-starter that can work with little direct supervision.
