About the position

The Bilingual (English/Japanese) HR Operations Sr. Specialist at Honda is responsible for managing programs and services that support Japanese expatriates in the US. This role focuses on providing comprehensive support to expatriates and their families, ensuring they can effectively navigate their new environment. The position also involves administrative responsibilities related to J-Staff, including SharePoint management and coordination of business travel for Japanese associates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for Japanese associates and their families that are posted to the US.
  • Provide ongoing payroll support and general service support for inpat population.
  • Support business requirements and changes impacting inpats in assigned locations.
  • Support and communicate HR programs, training, and requirements, including home office requirements.
  • Educate inpats about requirements, protocols, policies, programs, provide counsel and guidance as necessary.
  • Coordinate with Unit Lead and legal to support visa administration and leaves are executed in a timely manner and according to regulatory requirements.
  • Work with various HR departments to bridge Japan staff including executives for HR related matters (ex: AR/Performance/Training).
  • Manage the overall SharePoint site for J-Staff.
  • Provide guidance to each J-Ops member regarding website editing.
  • Provide technical support to users of the SharePoint site.
  • Design and develop training resources and provide user training to J-staff Ops members.
  • Negotiate with AH Travel staff and hotel managers to secure accommodations for business travelers.
  • Plan orientation programs for incoming Japanese associates.
  • Collect feedback from Japanese expatriates and business travelers for future planning to continuously improve operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in J-staff administration services.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Japanese.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures of the US and Japan.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
