About the position

The Immigration Law Office of Carmen Bello is seeking a full-time Bilingual (English/Spanish) Immigration Paralegal to join their busy family-based immigration firm in East Boston. The role involves working closely with the Managing Attorney and other team members to manage client relationships, assist with immigration processes, and ensure effective communication throughout the case management lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day relationships with clients.
• Maintain clients informed on the status of their case and assist in management of client expectations.
• Fill out immigration benefits and other standard forms.
• Write prehearing and interview preparation documents.
• Conduct legal research and country conditions research.
• Follow case processes and submit case file records requests to government agencies.
• Draft declarations and basic motions.
• Provide exemplary customer service.
• Maintain case files and data entry in case management database.
• Prepare client, government agency, and court correspondence.
• Perform other tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree.
• 3+ years of professional legal experience in family immigration law in a high-volume immigration practice.
• Advanced fluency in English and Spanish languages (oral and written).
• Excellent organizational, time management skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Strong record of cultural competence and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel to Immigration Court, detention facilities, and meetings as necessary.
• Knowledge of macOS and Internet applications.
