About the position

The Bilingual Family Intervention Specialist at Youth Villages is responsible for providing intensive home-based therapy to families, particularly those at high risk of youth removal from their homes. This role involves working closely with a small caseload of families to help maintain youth in their home environment, utilizing a flexible schedule to accommodate family needs. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while providing support and counseling in various community settings.

Responsibilities

• Carry a small caseload of 4-6 families.
• Hold family sessions with each family three times a week, scheduled at the convenience of the families.
• Conduct three supervision meetings a week.
• Utilize web-based documentation, including voice recognition technology in most locations.
• Provide rotating on-call availability to families during the week and on weekends.
• Drive up to 60-80 miles to meet with families in their homes.
• Provide treatment in individual families' homes across a wide array of settings and communities.

Requirements

• Bilingual fluency in English and one of the following: Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, or Cape Verde Creole.
• A Master's degree in a social services discipline is preferred with one year of experience working with youth or families.
• A Bachelor's degree in a social services discipline is required with two years of experience working with youth or families.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
