About the position

As a Bilingual Employee Relations Specialist at Pella Corporation, you will play a crucial role in partnering with the business to ensure that HR processes are consistently followed across multiple locations. Your primary focus will be to drive and support HR objectives aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of support and services provided to team members. This position requires you to provide onsite HR support as necessary, addressing complex questions and concerns from both team members and managers. You will be instrumental in maintaining positive team member relations and enhancing retention rates within the organization. In your role, you will influence front line managers to foster a healthy connection between themselves and their team members, promoting mutual respect, trust, and appreciation. You will act as a consultant for managers on various issues related to team member performance, conflict resolution, and problem-solving. This includes following a fair and objective process for addressing team member concerns, conducting thorough investigations in accordance with company policies, and providing specialist-level support and guidance to all levels of People Leaders. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining accurate and confidential records regarding all reported matters, ensuring the highest level of integrity when managing employee relations issues. You will need to stay attuned to organizational changes to identify potential employee relations risks and provide guidance on performance feedback, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans. Additionally, you will represent the company in unemployment claims and assist with religious accommodation requests, as well as provide guidance on workplace threats and emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a consultant for managers on issues related to team member performance, conflict resolution, and problem solving.
  • Following a fair and objective process for team member concerns, including fact-finding and adherence to employee relations policies.
  • Conducting investigations per company process.
  • Providing specialist level support, thought partnership, guidance, and coaching to all levels of People Leaders.
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential records regarding all reported matters and fact-finding documentation.
  • Staying attuned to organizational and operational changes to identify potential employee relations risks.
  • Providing guidance on performance feedback or action plans, including corrective actions and performance improvement plans.
  • Responding to and representing the company for unemployment claims.
  • Reviewing and processing religious accommodation requests.
  • Providing guidance on workplace threats and emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Extensive HR experience and proven record of exercising independent seasoned judgement.
  • Ability to coach and mentor others on the HR services team.
  • Ability to draft and/or revise policies and procedures in partnership with legal and HR leadership.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflict and provide coaching.
