About the position

The Bilingual HR Generalist at Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) plays a crucial role in managing various human resources functions, including recruitment, compliance, employee relations, and training. This position is responsible for ensuring legal compliance with HR regulations, maintaining employee records, and facilitating communication with union representatives. The HR Generalist will also assist in the onboarding process and support employees in their development and performance management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates recruitment for the facility, including identifying sources, evaluating candidates, and conducting interviews.
  • Extends offers of employment and arranges background checks, drug screens, and physicals.
  • Conducts new hire orientation and assists with workers' compensation and OSHA compliance programs.
  • Monitors the progress of employees with claims through the workers' compensation carrier.
  • Assists with OSHA Logs and prepares annual OSHA summary postings.
  • Ensures legal compliance with federal and state regulations applicable to human resources.
  • Completes the location's Affirmative Action Plan and provides training and outreach.
  • Monitors HR processes for compliance, maintains records, investigates employee complaints, and recommends necessary changes.
  • Maintains all HR-related records, ensuring confidentiality and limited access according to procedure.
  • Assists with HR functions including answering questions, benefit enrollment, and processing new hires and terminations.
  • Responsible for communication to the union and managing union grievances.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws, including interviewing and training employees.
  • Assists with learning and development for all employees, ensuring completion of assigned courses.
  • Maintains accurate employee information in the HRIS system.
  • Maintains professional knowledge by attending workshops and participating in professional societies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • One to three years of human resources management experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or other languages is preferred.
