About the position

The HR Generalist at Constellation Brands plays a pivotal role in supporting the HR function within the organization. This customer-facing position serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring that HR policies, procedures, and programs are effectively implemented. Reporting directly to the HR Director and receiving day-to-day supervision from the Senior HR Generalist, the HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and their respective client groups. This role is essential in managing the employee lifecycle processes, which include onboarding, offboarding, and maintaining accurate employee records in the HRIS system. The HR Generalist also processes payroll changes, benefits enrollments, and other employee transactions in a timely manner, ensuring that all HR-related documents and communications are prepared and distributed efficiently. In addition to transactional support, the HR Generalist provides functional support by guiding employees and managers on HR policies and best practices. This includes assisting in the resolution of employee relations issues and coordinating training and development programs. The HR Generalist also supports the performance management process, which encompasses goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans. Furthermore, this role involves strategic support, where the HR Generalist collaborates with HRBPs to address workforce planning and talent management needs, participates in HR initiatives that align with organizational goals, and analyzes HR metrics to provide insights for continuous improvement. The HR Generalist is expected to cultivate strong relationships with supervisors, managers, and employees to strategically advance the HR department's objectives, making this position integral to the overall success of the HR function within Constellation Brands.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS system.
  • Process payroll changes, benefits enrollments, and other employee transactions in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of HR-related documents and communications.
  • Manage recruitment efforts for seasonal and regular, full-time non-exempt positions.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist in the resolution of employee relations issues, escalating complex cases as needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training and development programs for employees.
  • Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
  • Coordinate internal employee investigations as needed, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs to identify and address workforce planning and talent management needs.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and projects that align with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Analyze HR metrics and data to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of HR policies and programs to support organizational growth and employee engagement.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • 2-4 years of HR or Administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple locations.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to accomplish assignments.
  • Experience in full-cycle recruitment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must maintain confidentiality in all employment matters.
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office.
  • Valid CA Driver's License.
  • Willing and able to travel to several sites in the Napa/Sonoma region.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Workday preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
  • Labor Relations experience.
  • Alc/bev or FMCG experience.
