About the position

The HR/Payroll Specialist at Chalet Desserts, Inc. is responsible for managing payroll processes, employee relations, compliance with employment laws, and talent management. This role requires a bilingual candidate fluent in Spanish, with a strong background in human resources and payroll, preferably in the manufacturing sector. The specialist will ensure accurate payroll processing, support employee development, and maintain a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Check timesheets for accuracy and print them for supervisor signatures.
  • Enter payroll data into the database and spreadsheet.
  • Handle direct deposits, garnishments, retirement contributions, and reimbursements.
  • Adjust salaries for pay raises, bonuses, and commissions.
  • Process weekly payroll using ADP Work Force Now.
  • Involve in recruitment processes, onboarding, training, and development programs.
  • Submit new workers' compensation claims and monitor employee work status reports.
  • Provide guidance and support on HR policies and employment law to managers and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Oversee administration of employee benefits, compensation, and payroll.
  • Lead the performance management process including goal setting and performance reviews.
  • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to assess HR initiatives and identify trends.
  • Drive organizational change initiatives and provide guidance on workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with the safety team to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of progressive HR and Payroll experience
  • Experience in manufacturing or food manufacturing industry is a strong plus
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is required
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and employment law
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in ADP WFN and Microsoft Office Suite
