About the position

The Bilingual Human Resource Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Resource Manager with daily operations within the HR department, ensuring effective employee relations and compliance with safety and food manufacturing practices. This position involves a variety of HR-related tasks, including maintaining employee records, assisting with onboarding, and managing payroll-related activities, all while providing general office support for the Visalia operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the HR Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department.
  • Maintain accurate information and records for all employees, including personal information, promotions, and time-off requests.
  • Organize and maintain confidential Employee HR files and training files.
  • Assist with employee reviews and onboarding of new team members, including verifying I-9 documentation.
  • Conduct reference checks for potential employment candidates and interface with Temporary Employee Agencies.
  • Maintain and prepare time and attendance records to ensure timely payroll processing.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and local labor and employment laws regarding mandatory postings.
  • Represent the Visalia HR function in the absence of the HR Manager.
  • Participate in confidential investigations and COVID-19 contact tracing as needed.
  • Coordinate company events and manage office supplies and petty cash records.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in both languages.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate with tact and discretion.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Some college coursework in Human Resources completed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two to five years of experience in the Human Resources field and/or payroll-related experience.
  • Human Resources certification desirable.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $70,000 - $75,000 annually with bonus potential.
