About the position

The Bilingual Human Resources Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business objectives of our organization. This position is based in Chicago, IL, and is a full-time role that requires a strong understanding of human resources principles, practices, and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment and selection process, ensuring that we attract and retain top talent. This includes conducting interviews, making hiring decisions, and managing employee relations to address and resolve any concerns or conflicts that may arise within the workforce. In addition to recruitment, the HR Manager will implement performance management processes that foster employee development and engagement. This involves developing and administering compensation and benefits programs that are competitive and equitable. The HR Manager will also coordinate training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge, ensuring that our workforce is well-equipped to meet the challenges of the organization. Compliance with labor laws and regulations is a critical aspect of this role, and the HR Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate HR records and documentation. Furthermore, the position includes overseeing the bi-monthly payroll process, ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling them to build relationships with senior leadership and influence decision-making processes effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process, including conducting interviews and making hiring decisions
  • Manage employee relations, including addressing and resolving employee concerns and conflicts
  • Implement performance management processes to ensure employee development and engagement
  • Develop and administer compensation and benefits programs
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
  • Maintain HR records and documentation
  • Ensure processing of the bi-monthly payroll process, which includes the accurate and timely processing of payroll.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Proven experience as an HR manager or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and procedures
  • Strong understanding of talent management and performance management processes
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as SAP, Workday, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, or Ceridian
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships with senior leadership and influence decision-making processes
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Cultural/lifestyle sensitivity to African American, Latino, and LGBTQ+ populations required.
