About the position

The Bilingual Human Trafficking Case Manager at YWCA Kalamazoo plays a crucial role in assisting victims and survivors of labor and sex trafficking. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, survivor-centered, trauma-informed case management to migrant and immigrant individuals recovering from trauma and exploitation. The role involves developing personalized service plans that address the unique needs of each participant, while also engaging in crisis intervention, program planning, outreach, and community service development.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers trauma-informed, survivor-centered intensive case management and advocacy services based on individual needs.
  • Provides immediate emergency response services and advocacy to victims/survivors at safe locations such as hospitals, police stations, or the victims/survivor's home.
  • Conducts individualized intake, assessment, orientation, support, safety planning, referral, and advocacy services by evaluating each victim/survivor's distinct needs to develop a service plan.
  • Assesses and monitors case progress to ensure goals are being attained and designated resources are being maximized, modifying plans as required.
  • Ensures that victims/survivors are provided the necessary support and resources throughout their recovery process.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Spanish is REQUIRED.
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in human services or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Minimum of two years' experience providing services to individuals who have experienced harm.
  • Knowledge of trafficking and the unique needs of victims/survivors, along with an understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Familiarity with community systems and resources.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven abilities to set priorities and fulfill responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff from various disciplines and represent the YWCA effectively.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in meeting client needs while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
