About the position

The IBM Project Manager - IT position is a full-time, permanent role based remotely, specifically for candidates located in Boca Raton, Florida. This role is with a leading Managed Service provider and IBM Partner, which is expanding its team to accommodate the growing demand for IT project management. The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating, planning, organizing, and executing various technical projects. This includes participating in customer-facing meetings to facilitate technical discussions and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager will coordinate the scheduling of resource availability and allocations necessary for project execution. They will promote teamwork, delegate tasks effectively, resolve conflicts, manage goals and timelines, and evaluate team performance. A critical aspect of this role involves developing detailed project plans to track progress, maintaining project documentation, and measuring project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques. Additionally, the Project Manager will perform risk management to maximize deliverables and budget, manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, plan, organize and execute technical projects
  • Participate in customer facing meetings and facilitate technical conversations

Requirements

  • At least the equivalent of an Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines
  • Three or more years project management experience in IT
  • Five or more years of experience working in an IT technical field
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and multiple team members with confidence
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Understanding computer technologies (x/86, System I, AIX or Mainframe)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Milestones/Gantt Charts
