About the position
The Bilingual Insurance Specialist at DaVita plays a crucial role in assisting patients with their insurance needs, acting as a liaison between patients, facility teammates, and the corporate office. This position involves both on-site visits to clinics and remote work, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to resolve insurance-related issues effectively. The specialist will also provide education to Medicare patients regarding their options and manage reporting related to patient advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between patients, facility teammates, billing office, and corporate office to resolve patient insurance issues.
- Identify, resolve, or escalate issues for prompt resolution.
- Build relationships with patients and clinic teammates to identify potential insurance issues.
- Assist Medicare patients with understanding their Chronic Special Needs Plan and Medicare options.
- Provide high-level customer service to address patient questions or issues.
- Manage and update tracking tools for patient interactions.
- Review trends with team and operational leadership.
- Provide monthly reporting and analysis on key metrics related to patient education and advocacy.
- Compile monthly operations reviews on assigned patient portfolio.
- Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed.
- Participate in special projects and Insurance Management Team initiatives.
- Mentor team members and shadow new hires for training.
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Experience in insurance counseling or related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships with patients and clinical resources.
