As a Bilingual Legal Assistant, you will work closely with attorneys to provide comprehensive support in both litigation and transactional matters. Your responsibilities will include client communication, where you will update clients in Korean, gather necessary information, and translate legal documents between Korean and English. You will also assist in legal tasks such as conducting fact investigations, preparing legal documents, and managing case deadlines. This role requires a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, especially under pressure, while maintaining excellent organizational skills. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for onsite work four days a week and remote work one day a week after the probationary period. Compensation for this role ranges from $40,000 to $60,000, depending on experience. Responsibilities

  • Update clients in Korean and facilitate communication between clients and attorneys.
  • Gather necessary information and documents from clients.
  • Translate legal documents between Korean and English.
  • Provide case updates and strategy summaries in Korean.
  • Conduct fact investigations and assist in identifying key legal issues.
  • Prepare factual summaries and monitor legal/regulatory developments.
  • Draft and manage legal documents, including subpoenas, deposition notices, and pretrial orders.
  • Coordinate with co-counsel, experts, and court personnel.
  • Manage case deadlines and scheduling.
  • Arrange depositions, witnesses, and other legal services.
  • Maintain organized case files and prepare litigation binders for hearings.
  • Assist with client meetings and handle general office duties.

Requirements

  • Native or fluent proficiency in Korean (reading, speaking, writing).
  • Strong translation skills for complex legal documents.
  • Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Adobe.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-2 years of administrative or legal work experience preferred.
