About the position

The Doctors Center is seeking a Bilingual Medical Receptionist to join our innovative and rapidly expanding team in Bradenton, FL. This position is essential for the efficient operation of our clinic's front desk and reception functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for registering patients, ensuring that complete and accurate information is obtained, and providing a variety of administrative and clerical support to facilitate the smooth operation of the clinic or department. The role requires answering phones with multiple lines, greeting and directing patients and visitors, and collecting and recording payments such as co-pays or balances. In addition to managing heavy call traffic quickly and accurately, the Medical Receptionist will need to verify insurance information, coordinate and schedule services for patients and providers, and manage office supplies as needed. The position also involves monitoring visitor access, issuing passes when required, and maintaining a patient records filing system. Knowledge of patient confidentiality and privacy requirements is crucial, as is the ability to check in and check out patients efficiently. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities, and be open to cross-functional training. Exceptional organizational skills are necessary to prioritize and complete tasks quickly, and proficiency in navigating computer software systems is required. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD coding is preferred, along with a bilingual ability in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

  • Registers patients and ensures that complete and accurate information is obtained.

  • Receives/transfers patient records and maintains the record filing system.
  • Verifies patient demographic information and accurately enters it into the computer system.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of medical background.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (1 year preferred).
  • Some experience with Outlook and Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD coding preferred.
