About the position

The Bilingual Part-time Call Center Representative is responsible for providing exceptional member service by handling a variety of calls related to account inquiries, loan requests, and Credit Union services. This role involves resolving member questions and problems, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the overall functions of the Customer Service Center.

Responsibilities

  • Handle member service calls in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Resolve member questions and problems regarding account statements, loans, payments, and interest rates.
  • Complete and maintain related reports, records, and files.
  • Cross-sell Credit Union services and support all functions within the Customer Service Center.
  • Receive member telephone questions and complaints professionally.
  • Conduct research and resolve documentation errors or discrepancies.
  • Forward complex problems to the Manager.
  • Interview and process preliminary documentation on loan requests.
  • Provide general information to members on Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Perform basic maintenance functions and automatic transfers for loan payments.
  • Maintain the Credit Union's professional reputation.
  • Establish and maintain effective coordination with area personnel and management.
  • Complete weekly Customer Service Center statistical reports.
  • Keep the supervisor informed of area activities and significant problems.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings.
  • Assist other departments as necessary.
  • Perform related clerical duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in member service at a full service financial institution or in a call center/customer service environment.
  • General knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of loans, payment processes, and interest rates.
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and related software applications including Microsoft Word or Excel.
  • Solid math skills and bookkeeping abilities.
