About the position

The Bilingual Patient Advocate position at Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is designed to assist uninsured hospital patients in accessing programs that cover their medical expenses. This role serves as a crucial link between patients, hospital facilities, and government agencies, ensuring that patients receive the necessary support and guidance throughout the application process for medical or disability assistance.

Responsibilities

• Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine eligibility for assistance programs.
• Complete applications and follow through until approval.
• Document all cases accurately and timely in company and hospital systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients at all times.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Maintain an assigned work queue of patient accounts.
• Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
• Handle incoming and outgoing calls related to patient enrollment and renewals for Medicaid.
• Assist applicants in gathering necessary documentation and arranging transportation if needed.
• Inform clients of all approvals and denials of coverage in a timely manner.
• Participate in additional training to stay updated on government program regulations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior hospital experience preferred.
• Adaptability to changing processes and systems.
• Professional experience with state and federal programs.
• Exemplary critical thinking skills.
• Ability to navigate throughout the hospital for up to 8 hours per day.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
