About the position

The Bilingual Payroll/Accounting Specialist position at PJS of Houston involves processing high-volume payroll for over 2,000 employees in a fast-paced environment. The role supports the Corporate Controller in the Accounting/Finance department and requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Processes payroll checks for 2,000+ employees
• Processes both regular payroll and special payroll runs as necessary
• Assists in calculating and preparing payroll tax deposits
• Performs calculations, processes and monitors all garnishments
• Prepares and processes 401K payment contributions
• Pays tax deposits via State Comptroller Office online
• Generates a variety of reports and prepares reconciliations for Accounting/Finance
• Assists Controller with monthly financial closing processes
• Prepares and posts necessary accounting entries
• Performs other administrative/support duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2 years of high-volume payroll experience (500+)
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Demonstrate high integrity and confidentiality
• Ability to multi-task and adhere to tight deadlines
• Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
• Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative
• Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to work well with all levels of the organization and with external contacts
• Ability to identify problems and proactively find solutions
• Strong typing skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Proficiency using computers, printers, copy machines, and fax machines.
