About the position

The Bilingual Payroll Specialist at Pipestone is responsible for processing and managing the company's payroll with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. This role involves calculating wages based on hours worked and administering payments using payroll software. The specialist will ensure that personnel receive their correct compensation in a timely manner while managing sensitive information and communicating appropriately with colleagues and executives. The position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to handle various payroll-related tasks effectively. Key responsibilities include performing all functions of bi-weekly payroll processing and bonus payrolls, auditing timecards for missed punches and proper PTO recording, reconciling and auditing earnings and deductions, and calculating manual timecards. The specialist will also establish and maintain employee and payroll records, oversee the pay card program, and process new hire, termination, and status changes. Providing customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries is also a critical aspect of this role. In addition to payroll duties, the specialist will handle cash receipts and accounts payable, maintain and oversee the employee housing program, and process and monitor personal leave of absences. The role may also involve special projects as requested by management and assisting in reconciling and auditing payroll general ledger accounts. This position is essential for ensuring that payroll processes run smoothly and that employees are compensated accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of 10-key, word processing and spreadsheet programs
  • Experience with time/payroll processing software
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Analytical and data entry skills
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Solid financial acumen
