The Bilingual Phlebotomist at Kedplasma is responsible for performing venipuncture on donors for plasmapheresis, ensuring the safety and care of the donor throughout the process. This role operates within the guidelines of EU Good Manufacturing Practice and FDA cGMP regulations. The Phlebotomist must adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory policies, remaining current on any changes to these procedures. Attendance at staff and team meetings is required to maintain effective communication and collaboration within the team. A key aspect of this position is providing exceptional customer service, addressing donor inquiries promptly and professionally, and alerting supervisors to any issues affecting donor flow. The Phlebotomist is also responsible for maintaining a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring that all necessary operating supplies are available. Compliance with Health Safety & Environmental policies, as well as OSHA regulations, is critical in this role. The Phlebotomist prepares equipment by performing necessary calibrations and maintenance checks as outlined in the SOPs. They must maintain the confidentiality and integrity of all personnel and donor information. Educating new donors about the donation process, therapeutic products derived from plasma, and center policies is also a significant part of the job. In addition to performing the plasmapheresis procedure, which includes donor setup, venipuncture, and monitoring, the Phlebotomist uses a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to accurately record donor data and incidents during the donation process. Evaluating vein suitability and monitoring donor reactions are essential responsibilities to ensure donor safety and product quality. The Phlebotomist must facilitate donor flow efficiently, minimizing wait times and ensuring a smooth operation. Troubleshooting equipment issues and providing guidance to Donor Floor Technicians are also part of the role. The Phlebotomist may be cross-trained to meet business needs and must be prepared for audits by maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including the ability to work alternating shifts and weekends.
