About the position

The Bilingual Professional Learning and Development Specialist at Bethany Children's Home is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering staff development functions to ensure compliance with regulatory training requirements and organizational strategic planning. This role is crucial in supporting the Helping Hands program, which provides care for unaccompanied alien children. The specialist will create and modify training materials, assess training effectiveness, and ensure that all staff are adequately trained to meet the diverse needs of the youth in their care.

Responsibilities

  • Create, reevaluate, and modify training curriculum in accordance with Office of Refugee Resettlement and DHS 3800 Regulations.
  • Create and modify training materials to address different learning styles.
  • Create and administer training assessment and evaluation tools to measure effectiveness.
  • Schedule and deliver in-house training for all staff to comply with training curriculum.
  • Educate staff and enforce compliance of training regulations with cooperation from supervisory staff.
  • Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify existing programs.
  • Maintain the learning management system by creating and modifying online courses.
  • Track employee training in the learning management system by updating assigned and passed courses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in education or training and development; combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Two years of training experience in a social service, healthcare, or related field.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills.
  • Strong commitment to helping youth succeed and enabling them to make a successful transition to their next placement.
  • Ability to establish rapport and relate sensitively to multiracial and multicultural groups of young adults.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities efficiently.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

  • Experience in training and development within a social service or healthcare setting.
